A film about strong women in an AIDS struck world, struggling for the
future of the children.
Judes Kamala Bukambu, a powerful and compassionate African woman, leads us in
to the everyday life of widows and orphans i north-western Tanzania.
through Judes and her colleges in a local help organisation, we get to know
sick mothers, children living alone and people who are working day and night
to heal the wounds of AIDS.
The film draws a colourful portrait of Judes Kamala but we also get to know:
Evangelina, mother of seven and sick in AIDS since 1994. Her goal is to see her
youngest one finish primary school before she dies.
"She´s such a brave woman, shes so full of joy and there is no room for
selfpity in her", says Judes Kamala Bukambu. Evangelina´s house is in a
terrible state but help is on the way.
Melissa, 19, caretaker of her little brothers and sister since their parents
died, five years ago.
Venant, 16, living alone in his house. Venant gets his food from another
neighbour, Feliciana, once a day. Feliciana was Venants mothers best friend and
as the story unfolds it becomes clear that Feliciana also suffer from AIDS.
Inspite of all there is hope, above all thanks to the spirit of the
people.
"We know how to laugh and cry here in Tanzania, that´s how we get healed."
